KATIE O’SULLIVAN NAMED ‘SPRINGBOARD AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR’
A HR and compliance manager for Il Forno and Sapporo Teppanyaki restaurants in Liverpool and Manchester has been named Springboard Ambassador of the Year at a glittering awards ceremony.
Katie O’Sullivan, 30, was presented with the accolade at The Tower Hotel in London as part of the 2008 Springboard Awards for Excellence. More than 450 distinguished guests from the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industry attended the event to honour and celebrate outstanding business excellence and quality in the sector.
Responsible for assisting approximately 130 staff with their needs including arranging training, site visits, health and safety compliance, audits, operational and Home Office issues, Katie, who lives in Wavertree, was delighted with her award, which marked the culmination of months of dedication and hard work.
In her first year as an ambassador for Springboard (a charitable trust set up to promote the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry in the UK) Katie has organised over a dozen activities including fun, interactive and memorable presentations, work experiences, magazine articles and radio coverage.
She said: “It was fantastic to win the award. Throughout being involved in Springboard I feel I have gained an important additional skill set. Along with other ambassadors, I will now be going out to schools to promote the industry to young people as a great environment to work in.
“This truly has been a really exciting opportunity for me.”
