BROUHAHA TEAMS UP WITH IL FORNO FOR UNIQUE PERFORMANCES
The UK’s second biggest festival, Brouhaha, and Liverpool’s most popular Italian restaurant, Il Forno, has teamed up together for two very special performances.
At the Duke Street eatery and also at Sapporo Teppanyaki, customers will dine while enjoying the added bonus of performances from La Paranza del Geco, an artistic company of Northern Italy active in representing the tradition of folk music and the art of dancing from Southern Italy, and also Banda Diavola- the devil's brass band.
Executive director of Brouhaha, Giles Agis, said: “This wont be like an audience watching a performance; it will be very interactive. Although these types of things are done in Italy all the time, we believe this is the first time that this has happened in the city, so there is a lot of excitement around it. This will be a unique experience.”
La Paranza del Geco’s performances are renowned for creating the atmosphere of some of the most enthralling folk festivals in the South of Italy, guaranteeing performances of the highest cultural value.
Andrew Ewing, marketing manager for Il Forno and Sapporo, said: “We are delighted to have teamed up with Brouhaha and hope to do many more events like this one in the near future. For us, bringing a part of Italy’s art and culture to Liverpool is just fantastic and we hope our customers thoroughly enjoy it.”
Brouhaha International Street Festival is set to take the North West by storm with a stream of groundbreaking arts events including carnivals, street festivals, creative art workshops, international performances and cross-community art projects.
Attracting over 200 performers from Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas, The Caribbean and Far East – along with the finest acts Merseyside has to offer - Brouhaha presents something for all the family in this truly multicultural event. Singers, dancers, musicians, carnival artists and other world-class entertainers will be joining Liverpool’s vibrant local communities in what promises to be a highly memorable programme of events.
Forever a highlight of the festival, the must-see Liverpool International Carnival – the region’s largest multicultural parade - will take place on Saturday, August 2. Jaw-dropping dance, brilliant beats and colourful costumes will all be on show as this sensory extravaganza weaves its way from the city centre through the heart of Toxteth and into Princes Park. The carnival will be leading a procession of performance, brazen colour and the partying masses to The World in Princes’ Park. Here, four stages filled with international and local talent – including the dazzling Liverpool Mela - will entertain the crowds while workshops keep the children occupied and international food stalls cook up culinary treats from across the world.
